"Possibly. Some people do better with 18k posts set on 14k earrings or you can try some clear neal polish on the post itself, it might help preventing direct contact with the ear.

14K gold has more impurities than higher karat gold jewelry. 14K gold implies 58.3% gold and rest are other metals which are alloyed to create the jewelry. These metals cause allergic reactions.
