Long story really short, I was approached by a young woman at a show who really liked my jewelry. She is the marketing directing for a large architectural firm but is wanting to go freelance. Get into the artistic side of marketing. She also has a degree in graphic design. She wants to handle me on a pure commission basis. She comes from a very wealthy, well-known family and is friends with the owners of the stores where I would love to have my jewelry. I like her very much and she is extremely smart and capable. I have always told my husband that my dream would be to just be the "hermit" in the background making the jewelry while someone else did the sales footwork. I am more than willing to hire her on a commisiion basis but wanted to know what everyone here thought about it. Have any of you done something like this or would you want to? Lots of opinions are welcome !

I think that if this is your dream, you should go for it. I'm just starting out jewelry making, so I'm not sure what risks are associated with this type of thing but I still think that if it's your dream you should do!

If you don't have a website and you are looking for tips for marketing offline then I am sorry I can't suggest much.Probably you will require a PR and you have to shell out some cash.In case you have a website and you are looking to market online then you should be targeting keywords such as SEO,PPC etc etc .Go to google and start conducting searches such as NY SEO (just an eg in case you are based in new york )That will be the best option.
Regards.
